JOB LOCATION: Indianola YMCA
SHIFTS AVAILABLE: Weekdays 4 pm - 7 pm and Weekend Morning Shifts
HOURLY PAY RATE: $10.25-$11.75/hour
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS: December 21, 2022 - Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Youth Program Instructor, you will engage children in program specific activities through play and interaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrate and teach activities.
• Conduct program in a fun, positive atmosphere.
• Know emergency procedures and be able to demonstrate them.
• Report specific problems or needs to supervisor or designated staff person.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions
• Previous experience work experience, preferable in leading or instructing others
• Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certifications or equivalent - prior to starting
• Intro to Y’s Cause & Culture Online Course - prior to starting
• Additional trainings to be assigned and completed within 30 days after hired, as well as maintained afterwards

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively with people and monitor property and activity
• Ability to adapt to variety of working conditions
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical activity
