Youth Minister

Job Summary: Works closely with the Senior Pastor to develop the Youth ministries:

Develops ideas and implements them to reach out to the local community to bring in youth to the church. Works with community organizations to bring name recognition to the church as it relates to youth activities

1. This is a Bi-Vocational position. The person will need to find additional employment in the local community.

Salary: $25,000 per year

The job will require 20 hours per week. Below is an example of an expected work week:

The youth worker should understand that youth ministry is a hands-on endeavor, and that time should be set aside weekly for corporate as well as personal moments of discipleship, training, and worship.

A given week for the youth worker should involve making weekly contacts with new and established youth, conducting a youth “service,” and developing a thoroughly Christian worldview that incorporates the Scripture as God’s main avenue for the training and equipping of the saints.

The youth worker’s week should look something like …

• Three hours of personal contact: one with an established youth, and one with a new youth prospect.
• Four hours of office time, preferably on a Friday, for counseling, visits, coordination with Pastor and Church secretary, as well as being available for parental visits if necessary.
• Four hours of study time for weekly service
• Three hours are set aside to conduct a weekly service (to prepare and conduct).
• One hour to coordinate with associational or other entities to prepare for Winter camp, Summer Camp, State Youth Conference.
• Five hours to spend as deemed necessary to tend to and facilitate the growth of the Church’s Youth Department.
