Location: Bellwood
Schedule: Days vary, 4:00pm-Midnight, must require weekends and overnight
Position Overview
Under the direction of the House Manager, the Youth Care Worker assists adolescent wards of the state with preparing for adulthood by providing counseling, employment assistance, and educational/life skills training. A Youth Care Worker refers residents for services, as needed; collaborate with case managers in reviewing and planning individual service plans; and provide transportation, as needed.
Knowledgeable of DCFS policies, procedures, and regulations is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or at least 60 hours of college credits
- One year's experience working with high-risk adolescents, preferably in a residential setting
- Valid driver's license
- Clear driving record
- Reliable transportation_ (proof of insurance may be needed)_
