Summary
Under the direction of the Yard Supervisor, this position will be responsible for leading the yard team to ensure activities are performed in a safe, effective, and timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Team leadership
- At the Supervisor's direction, provide leadership to the yard crew and direct vehicle movement to designated locations
- Oversee the performance of various yard activities
- Communicate work assignments and monitor progress toward completion throughout the day
- Keep crew advised of changing priorities and assignments
- Ensure team members are in compliance with established policies and procedures
- Report to the Supervisor any team member that demonstrates poor work performance, tardiness, negative behavior, inappropriate dress, or unwillingness to assist others
- Perform and lead yard activities
- Activities include but are not limited to:
- Scan and tag vehicles accordingly
- Walk from vehicle to vehicle and use scanner to scan bar codes, and verify that VIN numbers match
- Tag vehicles according to the information listed on the scanner by placing the corresponding sticker on the inside of the windshield
- Dig-out
- Aged maintenance
- Battery testing and replacement
- Report to Supervisor and document any vehicle concerns brought forth by yard team members
- Activities include but are not limited to:
- Customer service
- Communicate and work with internal and external customers to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience and driving experience preferred.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Supervisory experience preferred
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Must hold a valid State Driver's License and good driving record

- Ability to sit in front of a desk and/or in front of the computer for long periods

- The position is based out of the West Point, GA office at a plant manufacturing/warehousing environment.
