Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement Workforce Development program activities related to career exploration, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship
- Program plans should incorporate the 5 Key Elements, follow member program schedules, and meet the overall goals of the organization
- Engage with select groups of youth members every week
- Transport and escort members on field trips such as college tours or career exposures
- Utilize techniques to gain control of the program group and ensure members are fully engaged
- Communicate clear and straightforward instructions to members before each program and activity to ensure that members understand rules, expectations, and directions
- Provide positive feedback, encouragement, and recognition for members to highlight achievements
- Track and report attendance, support plans, Workforce Development action plans
- Visit up to two (2) school locations per day during the week (with gas stipend)
- This role focuses primarily on high school students and secondarily on elementary and middle school students
- Review needs of students with program staff and refer families to services as needed
- Coordinate outside groups to come in and help implement programs at least twice a quarter and ensure a value-added experience for all
- Work closely with Youth Development Assistants and volunteers during site hours
- Complete organization and Workforce Development training as needed
- Meet regularly with supervisor: Director of Workforce Development
- Support regular on-site staff as needed
- Become a 12-passenger van certified to provide member transportation when needed
- Maintain efficient and professional communication with community partners, stakeholders, Boys & Girls Club staff, parents, and members
Experience:
- At least 1 year of youth development or youth mentoring experience
Education:
- High School diploma required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Students studying Counseling, Business, Social Work, and Education are encouraged to apply
