Workers’ Compensation Analyst

About the Court System

The New York State Unified Court System, the judicial branch of the state government, is one of the largest and busiest court systems in the world. Its workforce of 16,000 dedicated judges and non-judicial employees serve the public by providing just and timely resolution of all matters before the courts.

The Division of Human Resources provides support services and consultation to judges, court administrators, court personnel, and the public. The Division is seeking an analyst in the Workers’ Compensation Unit. The Workers’ Compensation Analyst will be responsible for ensuring timely processing of workers' compensation claims; evaluating accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation.

Responsibilities:

· Reviewing and processing Workers' Compensation cases.

· Processing workers’ compensation forms.

· Answering questions from employees regarding Workers' Compensation.

· Preparing letters and other correspondence.

· Entering transactions into HRMS system (PeopleSoft) and timekeeping system (Kronos).

· Entering medical documents and relevant data into databases.

· Acting as a liaison with the NYS Insurance Fund.

· Managing aided and unusual occurrence reports.

· Reviewing payroll history, Time + Leave, and calculating monies to be credited.

· Analyzing call center intakes from the Accident Reporting System.

· Assisting with special projects.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of NYS Civil Service Rules and union experience a plus.

Experience processing workers’ compensation claims in NYS is preferred.

Salary: Base: $57,166 Annually

Location Pay: $4,300

Location: New York City – Downtown Manhattan
