POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position functions as the key administrative liaison between our providers, and the injured employee, case manager, employer, and insurance company to insure timely care and claims resolution. Oversees such matters as scheduling, communication of sensitive information, return to work status, and timely resolution of claims. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years healthcare experience, or work comp experience at an employer or insurance carrier.
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication / telephone skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Able to follow directions quickly and efficiently with varying workloads and interruptions.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

JOB COMPLEXITY, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with worker’s comp carriers, occupational medicine clinics, and referring providers.
  • Coordinates and schedules worker’s comp patient appointments.
  • Reviews, verifies, and transmits work status and other reports on all worker’s comp appointments
  • In accordance with patient privacy regulations and specific authorization, provides medical records and other necessary information to worker compensation adjuster and/or nurse case manager.
  • Performs all functions relating to and ensures timely processing of claims. This includes follow-up of outstanding receivables, contacting patients and the worker compensation adjusters and keeping correct records in the system.
  • Research aged accounts and contacts responsible party concerning the aged accounts.
  • Schedule and collect payments for IME and EME performed by our providers.
  • Performs other duties as may be appropriately required or assigned.
  • Must work independently with minimal supervision.

Columbus Orthopaedic Clinic, PA has clinics located in both Columbus and Starkville, Mississippi. Both are open during the day Monday through Friday but are closed on weekends and major holidays.
