A comprehensive and effective testing program is a critical part of implementing a new enterprise business solution. Cognizant’s HR Modernization program is a multi-year program to move Cognizant’s on-premise HR process to Workday HCM Cloud. We are redesigning our HR processes and leveraging capabilities delivered by Workday. This role supports this initiative through refinement and execution of the testing strategy, testing planning, test case creation, and successfully navigating test execution to ensure functional business needs are being met. The individual will provide coordination and support with Project Management to ensure the numerous aspects of the HR Modernization project are completed on-time while in alignment with company-wide goals.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Interactively work with functional teams to effectively identify functional test scenarios and cases
- Execute the existing test plan inclusive of test scenarios that incorporate the organization’s requirements
- Responsible for preparation and execution of functional tests to ensure that all objectives are met, and the solution works as expected.
- Prepare progress reports of all testing during every phase of the project
- Provide support for the Testing Team to understand the testing scenarios assigned, how to appropriately execute the tests during the testing phase and how to report challenges, issues, etc.
- Validate reported failed scenarios by the Testing Team within the functional areas; ensure failed scenarios are effectively logged and communicated for configuration correction
- Interactively work with PMO and Workday implementation partner to mitigate risk and develop solutions as needed
- Establish well-defined, measurable goals for self and project and holds others accountable with direct authority
- Partner with IT Testing Lead to identify and execute end-to-end and regression testing for all impacted upstream and downstream systems.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5+ years relevant work experience
- Functional Workday HCM testing experience
- Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to analyze/synthesize data, understand trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for actions
- Experience with test management tools, test scenario and script preparation and test requirements analysis
- Strong oral and written communications with excelling teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and drive consensus
- Able to respond to changing requirements with pragmatic solutions.
