Congressional Country Club, located in Bethesda Maryland has hosted four Major Championships and is the site for 8 future Major Championship events including the 2027 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, the 2030 PGA Championship, and the 2037 Ryder Cup.

The Club has 36 holes of championship golf; our Blue Course is ranked among the Top 100 in the U.S. The Blue and Gold courses are ranked #1 and #4 in the state of Maryland respectively. PGA Director of Golf & Athletics Jason Epstein was the PGA's 2015 National Merchandiser of the Year for Private Clubs and is committed to the development and advancement of his team. Congressional is an AGM Platinum Award Winner including "Best of the Best Top 10" Golf Shops in the past six years. The New Blue, re-imagined by Architect Andrew Green, re-establishes the course among the best in the world. Coupled with our new 8,000-square-foot Golf Performance Center, the Club solidifies itself and the best golf experience.

The Club is looking for Team Members that believe the impossible is possible. Driven to continuously make a positive impact on the organization and believe that we do our best work together when working as a team.

Goal: To develop a female Golf Professional into First Assistant, Head Professional, or industry-leading roles with a focus on Private Club placement.

How: Professionals will be coached and mentored by the Golf Operations leadership in every area of the golf operation, fostering the core leadership skills necessary to succeed in future positions. The WGPP will provide each participant with a strong sense of Club Business Acumen and will allow for expanded influence within our profession and beyond. Key development areas include:

• Building a successful Team and culture
• Tournament/Event management for an active membership; our events are the Best of the Best.
• Retail, Buying, and Merchandising of an Award-Winning Golf Shop (2017-2023 Top 10 in the World)
• Outside operations and scheduling, these Team Members are critical to the member experience.
• Juniors, Ladies and Men's groups play, a big part in life at the Congressional
• Teaching and Coaching Golf, and the Operation of a State-of-the-Art Training Facility
• Playing golf with Members and building equity with the membership
• Exposure to the planning and execution of Major Championships (PGA of America)
• Attending department and Club wide leadership meetings, including Golf Committee meetings, to develop leadership (and boardroom) skills for future opportunities.
• Participate in a robust travel program.
• Navigate through challenging situations with Members and the Team
• Gain a full understanding of communication with the membership through various platforms and on a variety of topics.
• Coordination of the Caddie Program, a big part of our Club's history and tradition
• In addition to golf, training, and exposure to other critical areas of development within the Club, including:
  • Accounting and Budgeting
  • Human Resources (Team Member Engagement)
  • Food and Beverage
  • Club Governance
  • Leadership & Mentoring
