GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs responsible skilled work in theatrical front of house operations and intermediate paraprofessional work in coordinating, promoting, and development of Willow Theatre operations; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Effectively manages day-to-day front of house and box office operations while providing exceptional customer service;
Effectively handles a high volume of phone calls and ticket sales for events and theatre performances;
Coordinates, supervises and participates in all box office functions including collecting fees, managing supply stock, maintaining cash drawer and will call records;
Creates and manages accurate and timely reports as requested by various internal and external customers;
Continually analyzes and evaluates box office operations and its inventory to identify opportunities for improvements;
Completes end-of-day reconciliation of cash and credit card transactions and ensures accuracy of all financial paperwork;
Trains staff in general box office procedures;
Oversees and trains volunteers on front of house operations;
Updates the Willow Theatre website;
Creates posters/flyers and performance programs;
Relays accurate information to the public;
RELATED TASKS:
Keeps records on all current events pertaining to the theatre and the community center;
Maintains organization and cleanliness of the box office area;
Maintains customer records;
Creates and stocks performance program inserts;
Assists with working summer camp programs
Assists with special events;
Performs related tasks as required;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Thorough knowledge of customer service, cash handling, phone etiquette and office practices; General knowledge of the theatre business, including front of house, box office operations, and hospitality; Must possess excellent writing and computer skills that includes knowledge of POS, Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design applications; Ability to type accurately at a rate of 30 wpm; Experience with automated ticketing system, show settlement and inventory management; Ability to maintain order in a public facility; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, participants, and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equal to an Associate's degree from an accredited college with major coursework in theatre operations or related field. Minimum of one (1) year customer service and cash handling experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license with no more than six (6) points in a three (3) year period. Assigned work schedule includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift and carry articles weighing up to 25 lbs., and push articles weighing up to 100 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures, insects, noise, dust, heights, dark and confined spaces; ability to stand and walk for up to six (6) hours at a time.
