Job Summary:

Plan, layout, set up, and run various types of welding and cutting shop equipment. Responsible to provide support to various departments to assist with their testing needs. Responsible for welding at operation sites.

Job Requirements:

• Normally follows established procedures and works independently on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments. Works under general supervision.

• Performs work of moderate to advanced difficulty, primarily in welding. Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.

• HS Diploma or GED. AA degree, Vocational/ Trade School training or other related advanced courses is a plus

• 3-5 years related experience

• Working knowledge of welding materials and processes.

• Intermediate in Microsoft Office skills; blue print reading, troubleshooting
  

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
