Job Summary

Welder will perform metal welding. This position will help support various projects in the Wateree, SC (Columbia).

Essential Functions

• Reading and understanding blueprints and drawings prior to starting a project.
• Sourcing the materials needed to complete the work project.
• Measuring and cutting to specifications.
• Checking finished work to make sure it falls within the tolerances marked on the prints or drawings.
• Use tools necessary to perform metal fabrication.
• Safely use cutting torch, heating, and burning equipment.
• Safely operate saws, grinders, presses etc.
• Follow instructions.

Required Skills & Experience

• At least 1-year welding/fabricating experience.
• Physical ability to perform assigned tasks (lift up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, climbing, standing, etc.)
• Must have tools necessary to perform metal fabrication.
• Knowledge of operating cutting torch, heating and burning equipment.
• Knowledge of operating saws, grinders, presses, etc.
• Must be able to read blueprints and drawings to start a project.
• Must be able to pass welding test.
• Must be able to follow instructions.
• Flexibility to work more than 8 hours a day or nights when needed.
• Flexibility to work more than 5 days a week or weekends when needed.
• General labor construction skills.
• Knowledge of operating a variety of other construction equipment and instruments is a plus.
