Job description
Provides new and on-going employee training for all Weatherization projects, including but not limited to, developing training programs and materials related to home weatherization to include in-class and field training, policy and procedure development, presentation materials, and eligibility requirements; assists in the development and update of the curriculum and employee files to ensure compliance with training requirements of all employees; assesses individual and agency training needs, tracks employee's progress and updates/maintains training manuals and documents; required to perform field duties to remain familiar with actual processes and procedures; coordinates and collaborates with the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) on program training as well as training on policies and regulations both State and Federal.
- Conducts all employees training for all new and ongoing Weatherization technicians with both classroom and field settings. Independently drives to job sites, inspection sites, and/or training locations.
- Develops and maintains all training and courses material to include manuals, power point presentations, and testing materials based on programs, codes, mandates, rules, policies, procedures, audit findings, and other areas of skill development needed by technical management and support staff.
- Provides individual coaching and support as needed by staff in the form of course or field study. Collaborates with management to design employee development plans; monitors and evaluates the progress of all trainees.
- Performs Final Inspections of Weatherization projects.
- Coordinates and collaborates with the Colorado Energy Office (CEO) on program training, as well as training on County, State, and Federal policies and regulations.
- Participates on committees that address staff training and safety issues at the county and state level.
- Actively participates in weatherization field work to remain familiar with best practices in addition to providing training to all staff.
- Assists with scheduling of audits, crew work, and inspections.
- Coordinates travel arrangements for off-site trainings and conferences; including lodging, vehicle(s), and per diem as appropriate.
- Coordinates with program manager and field supervisor appropriate training schedules and yearly training plan preparations.
- Performs other duties as appropriate or necessary for performance of the job.
Education:
- High School or GED equivalency required.
Experience:
- Minimum of four years of training experience required.
- Minimum of six years of Weatherization and/or Construction/Project Management experience required.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) Building Inspector License obtained via the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) OR willing to obtain it with 18 months of employment
- Valid Energy Auditor Certificate obtained via the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Protection Agency (EPA) OR willing to obtain it with 18 months of employment
- Valid Renovation, Repair, and Painting Program: Firm Certification (RRP) obtained via the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) OR willing to obtain it with 18 months of employment
- Valid Quality Control Inspector (QCI) Certification obtained via the Building Performance Institute (BPI) OR willing to obtain it with 18 months of employment
Special Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license at the time of application and a valid Colorado driver’s license at time of hire required.
