Are you an organized person who enjoys helping others? WCMCA is looking for Housing Advocate for our Weatherization Program.

The Weatherization Program helps income eligible households cut their heating costs and improve the comfort level of their homes.

Primary responsibilities of the position will include:

· Assist in all day-to-day operational activities that include a variety of on site inspection of homes, clerical, computer and selected direct client/contractor activities to ensure smooth program service delivery.

· Assessing energy efficiency and health and safety conditions in clients’ homes and prescribing cost-effective remedies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

· 1-3 years of experience working with people.

· Knowledge of basic home construction and/or related experience.

· Knowledge of current products, skills and techniques used in housing technology.

· Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage

· Familiar with Microsoft Office applications

· Comfortable using power tools and various testing equipment.

Preferred

· Knowledge of Weatherization and Conservation Programs

· Post-Secondary training in specialized courses related to Housing/Energy

· Professional experience working for or collaborating with a CAP agency

· Demonstrated understanding of diverse backgrounds and cultures

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform in home pre-weatherization checks and Conservation Improvement Program duties.

2. Assist with energy audits utilizing Federal and State specifications and the Weatherization Assistant Program software.

3. Utilize dwelling strategy that prioritizes work based on costs, emergency/safety concerns and potential funding.

4. Determine proposed measures which will be beneficial to household and structure including projected material and labor costs.

5. Educate clients about energy conservation, safety and home maintenance.

6. Assist housing auditors in job book preparations.

7. Attend recommended training to retain proficiency in performance within position.

8. Keep immediate supervisor informed of all problems so that prompt corrective action can be taken as needed.

9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Salary range $21.00 per hour and includes a benefits package: health, dental, vision and life insurance; 403B with match; Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
