A Wash/Crush Plant Operator is required to perform sampling and inspection work. This role will operate the rock, sand and gravel plant equipment to crush, wash or segregate materials used in construction. The ideal candidate has experience with moving and manipulating the controls to control the feeding, crushing, and screening machinery. Experience with maintenance of plant equipment is an asset. Compiling information for reports regarding plant production and plant maintenance is a key responsibility; some work may include analyzing data and making various computations. Familiarity with testing procedures, with measuring equipment, and with production equipment is required. The successful candidate will have a proven safety record as well as a history of being a team player. Must be able to work without direct supervision. Shift work and overtime will be required.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Perform maintenance on Wash/Crush plant equipment.
- Work with maintenance department to replace equipment such as screens, cones, crush equipment, conveyor belts, etc. as needed.
- Monitor material to ensure that product is made within specifications.
- Ensure all safety guidelines are being followed.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in aggregate industry is strongly preferred.
- Must have ability to read, write, and speak English along with the ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, order information, and directions.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to stay calm and focused in a high pressure situation.
- Understanding of industry safety, MSHA and OSHA regulations and practices is strongly preferred.
