Job Summary

Boart Longyear is looking for a new Warehouse Worker. The warehouse worker is responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping, and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling purchase orders, and keeping warehouse stocked with essential equipment.

Job Type: Temporary (w/ possibility of long-term placement)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Starting Pay: $18/hr

Receiver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate receipt of items ordered and placed in specified areas of the warehouse. Warehouse receivers unload packages and check their contents to ensure they match the orders. Individuals in this role should be extremely detail oriented and possess basic math skills.

Shipping thrives in environments that require them to be detail-oriented multitaskers. In shipping, you are on the front line, making sure that customers receive the items they ordered in a timely manner, without any mistakes in the delivery. You will be an important liaison between our business and our clients, making sure that everyone gets what they need quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

Receiving

• Daily, it is expected that shipments are signed upon receipt, that packages are unloaded from incoming trucks, that contents are inspected to ensure they are not damaged, and that packages are verified according to orders and invoices.
• Remove and dispose of packaging material, operate forklifts, stock items.
• Route items to various departments
• Receiving clerks are responsible for contacting shippers directly if a problem or discrepancy is found and keeping careful records.

Shipping

• Coordinate deliveries to customers and clients daily, including boxing goods, addressing packages.
• Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures.
• Attach shipping labels on packed crates/boxes.

Skills and Qualifications:

Communications skills- Shipping and Receiving interact with many people, including suppliers, supervisors, and employees, so it is important to be strong, detailed communicator for things to run smoothly.

Attention to detail- Shipping and Receiving work in a fast-paced environment. It is important to multitask well under pressure while paying close attention to shipment details, record maintenance, and order discrepancies.

• Must be educated.
• Ability to interpret packing slips.
• Ability to fill out bills of lading.
• Having high attention to details
• Being able to work with a team.
• Having good communication skills
• Being able to perform repetitive tasks.
• Having organization skills
• Forklift experience (We will provide forklift certification course)
