This is not your typical warehouse; as a Warehouse Technician you will work in a fast paced environment while operating large equipment, transporting flammable material across our property, maintaining accurate stock inventories; processing orders completely; scanning materials into the system with handheld scanners, receiving materials and placing into stock inventory. This position is largely in the afternoons and evenings.
12 hour shift schedule: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, 3 to 4 nights per week
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Unloading liquid hazardous material from railroad cars.
- Operate TSP or turret forklifts.
- Use of VF scanners to track inventory
- Opens crates/containers. Properly labels all products.
- Organizes, stores, retrieves inventory. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials/items on racks, shelves, bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, etc.
- Reads production schedule, customer order, shipping order, etc., to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. Fills requisitions, or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes.
- May be responsible for inspecting incoming totes, and raw material incoming inspection and associated paperwork.
- Uses computer to enter records. Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed. Completes necessary paperwork (such as BOL, Packing List, etc.).
- Ensures packing list matches Bill of Lading for accuracy.
- Participates in inventory management, i.e. inventory accuracy, cycle counts, inventory verification. Reports inventory discrepancies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience with operating a forklift; TSP or turret forklift experience preferred but not necessary as we will train on these types.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Having experience with SAP helpful
- Basic Math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, proportions and percentages.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred, i.e., Word, Spreadsheet and E-mail.
Compensation: $18 or more, depending on experience
Physical Requirement: able to lift up to 55lbs and be on one's feet for most of the shift.
