Position Summary:

The Assistant Warehouse Technician is responsible for providing all necessary support to the Purchasing Manager. The primary function of this role is to aid in purchasing materials, heavy equipment, products, and services to fulfill the needs of job site projects including equipment maintenance and warehouse management.

Responsibilities:

1. (60%) Assists Purchasing Manager with directing and coordinating daily activities of buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, vehicles, and supplies. This work may include, but is not limited to:

· Identifying and selecting vendors of materials, equipment or supplies;

· Researching product availability and pricing for equipment, materials and supplies;

· Resolving employee, vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers;

· Partnering with Purchasing Manager to monitor and track budgets;

· Utilizing online purchasing systems;

· Preparing requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.

2. (30%) Manages warehouse equipment and supply disbursement and maintenance. This work may include, but is not limited to:

· Managing warehouse inventory, responding to special requests and proactively stocking materials and supplies aligned with purchase orders;

· Managing, tracking, and logging warehouse inventory levels, daily;

· Improving and streamlining warehouse inventory processes;

· Tracking rentals of key equipment including generators, acetylene gas, and scaffolding;

· Loading and unloading box trucks;

· Assigning and leading multiple laborers in day-to-day tasks.

(10%) Performs accounting, invoicing, and miscellaneous tasks. This work may include, but not limited to:

· Submitting Monthly Usage Sheets to Accounting and Project Managers documenting warehouse inventory use per job site;

· Collaborating with various departments to ensure appropriate levels of inventory, equipment and supplies for all projects.

4. (5%) Performs various tasks to assist Ownership, Project Managers, and Technicians

Qualifications:

The following education, skills and experience are required for this role:

· High school diploma or equivalent required;

· Ability to obtain OSHA and Forklift certifications within 90 days of hire;

· Previous heavy equipment warehouse management or related strongly preferred;

· Ability to travel locally to various work sites in designated multi-state territory (50%);

· Valid drivers license;

· Flexible work schedule subject to project scope;

· Seasonal projects may include extensive overtime, at times;

· Weekends and evenings may be required.

Environment:

This position is performed both in an office setting (50%) and on job sites (50%). Requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, load and unload warehouse, operate forklift, crawl into small spaces, walk on uneven terrain, endure extreme temperatures, carry and lift equipment up to 70lbs or more with or without an assisted rolling device.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
