JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the overall storage plan. Verifies material against receiving documents and reports discrepancies to the proper agency. May be required to remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment. Works under general supervision and guidance of the MDRS Supply Tech Lead. Knowledge of the GCSS-ARMY system preferred. Must have some warehouse experience.

As directed, responsible for a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage, safety, accountability, and physical security plan. Work involves verifying materials against receiving documents, noting/reporting discrepancies, housekeeping, routing materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, palletizing materials in accordance with regulatory guidelines, rearranging materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration/damage (if required). In addition, the use of GFE, powered equipment and tools, material handling equipment, fax machine, copier, and computer software (Microsoft Office) is routine.

Job will require the operation of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in performing various warehousing function. This includes operating the following forklift types: sit down counter-balanced; electric, diesel, and propane powered forklifts with lifting capacities of 4,000 to 35,000 pounds to move, load/unload various materials and equipment throughout the workplace. Knowledge of the Army supply system preferred. Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 40+ lbs., pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.

May be assigned to support contract support requirements in a job-related area such as environmental, safety, and security. Additional duties will require performing housekeeping of the work areas. May be cross-utilized in other job areas.

Preferred: High school diploma and 5 years of applicable experience within the warehousing area. Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Must be a U.S. citizen. Paid relocation assistance is not available. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance or clearly state a willingness to relocate his or herself.
