Job Summary
The Warehouse Assistant is primarily responsible for maintaining the companies warehouse facilities, tools, and equipment. This position assists with checking in/out tools, distributing consumables, logging the transactions as well as supporting delivery and disbursement of tools and equipment to job sites. Additionally, must assure that all tools are in safe operating condition and that all tags/markings required by our Safety Program are in place. This is an entry level position.
Essential Functions
- Actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
- Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
- Disperse consumables to employees, as needed; document consumable items given out for inventory-tracking purposes.
- Pull and stage equipment for upcoming project deliveries.
- Manage daily shipping and receiving duties.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Assist with all manners of inventory including cycle counting and any physical inventories.
- Keep material tooling and equipment stocked and organized.
- Perform light repair work on tools and/or evaluate to send out for repair, as needed.
- Pick up parts at local suppliers and run errands as needed using a company vehicle.
- Deliver to jobsites when requested, using a company vehicle.
- Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Perform additional responsibilities, as needed.
Qualifications
- 6+ months previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Valid Class “B” license required with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to drive both a standard as well as automatic vehicle
- Familiar with the tools and consumables products used in the construction industry
- Some knowledge of tools and equipment of industrial electrical work is preferred
- Ability to work well with and support internal customers.
- Forklift and telescoping boom experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
