Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Voice Engineer to support voice and data networks for an enterprise environment within the Air National Guard. This is a full-time, short term position for approximately 6 months.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct evaluation and analysis of existing Voice infrastructure for the integration of new/current Voice projects and the determination of appropriate system versions to deploy.
  • Understand the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting methods for Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Avaya Call Manager (CM) systems, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) voice solutions, and Cisco and Avaya Unified Communications Infrastructure.
  • Integrate Avaya and Cisco Voice solution with IP-phones and VTC end-points.
  • Develop requirements, design, installation, configurations to be implemented on local and wide area networks to provide data/voice communication.
  • Review and analyze the implementation and migration of new technologies and develop recommendations for supporting the integration of ANG services into an integrated baseline.
  • Provide technical support in requirement analysis planning in support of the migration and integration of current legacy voice systems.
  • Provide technical support in the requirements analysis, development, and implementation of technical solutions to support internal Cyberspace Systems operations and business processes.
  • Perform technical analyses to ensure integration, viability and cost impact data addressed prior to technology insertion.
  • Provide a Configuration Management Plan (CMP) on a continuous basis upon request by the Government.
  • Provide integration support for network switches, voice, video, and voice over IP solutions (VoIP).
  • Provide enterprise level architectural design and modification recommendations to enhance, migrate, and secure the ANG’s voice networks.
Qualifications:
8+ years’ experience in network engineering. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified. Experience in all phases of the engineering lifecycle including requirements; architecture; design; implementation; testing; and operations and maintenance of voice systems. Thorough knowledge of Cisco Unified Call Manager and Avaya Call Manager solutions. Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians. Knowledge of relevant server-side tools and technologies. Solid customer service and communication skills are critical as well as the ability and willingness to communicate effectively with senior leaders and team members. Must be capable of working independently and or in a team environment. Must be willing to travel. Must be a US Citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
