Under the direction of the Director of Professional Services, provides assessment, evaluation, counseling, vocational guidance and case management services to individuals with disabilities to reach their maximum vocational potential. Also responsible for intake and program coordination for all vocational services.


  • Observes and assesses each individual during their evaluation period and provides a written assessment of their vocational ability and potential to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
  • Conducts intake interviews for individuals interested in any of OTC’s vocational programs and services.
  • Reviews OTC program options with the individual and the individual’s parents, guardians, sponsors, staff, support coordinator, etc.
  • Assists individuals and their team in determining appropriate program options based on the individual’s expressed interests, strengths, support needs and other applicable information.
  • Determines eligibility of individuals and prepares necessary paperwork and documentation for their participation in the program.
  • Reviews psychological evaluations, reports from school systems (ISPs, school evaluations, etc.), medical evaluations and reports and other pertinent documents to certify the individual’s eligibility for program services.
  • Communicates and coordinates with the individual’s support team including parents, legal guardians, Division of Developmental Disabilities, support coordinators, mental health and medical team and other parties as necessary.
  • Participate in the individual’s team meetings, providing updates regarding vocational progress.
  • Counsels the individuals to promote productive work attitudes and skills and to set appropriate vocational goals based on qualifications, interests and labor conditions.
  • Provide individual and crisis counseling as needed.
  • Identify services the individuals may need and make recommendations/referrals to other programs/services.
  • Establish and maintain a professional level of communication with OTC’s administration, workshop personnel, program consumers, guardians and families and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Assigns and oversees assessments conducted by the Vocational Case Managers for unfunded vocational programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Minimum age required eighteen (21).
  • Minimum of two (2) years counseling/vocational experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • The successful completion of all DDD required training and compliance with all applicable standards as set forth in the manual upon the date of hire.
  • Valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
