Visit Supervisors of GAP Ministries provide essential services to hurting families in Tucson and Southern Arizona. APPLY TODAY to become be a part of our team, positively changing lives! Visit Supervisors provide safe transportation of children to family visitations with non-custodial parents, providing oversight to ensure the safety and protection of the children. These special caregivers help children and their mom and dad spend quality time together on the path to reuniting their family in a healthy manner. Visit Supervisor is an exceptional introductory position for forthcoming social workers.

Pay: Starts at $13.00 per hour*; experience and education are rewarded with a higher pay amount (DOEE). Job performance bonuses awarded. *There is also a $2/hour pay differential for Parenting Time (duration of actual visit).

Employment Type:

  • Full Time (35 40 hours weekly) Full time employment requires at least one weekend day with 2 days off earlier in the week.
  • Part-Time (29 hours or less; hours vary by individual and case requirements)

Schedule: Visitations are scheduled daily, 2 to 4 times a week, typically when children are not in school, including Saturdays and Sundays.

Essential Functionsinclude, but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervise parent-child visits at the selected sites as per agency and case-specific guidelines
  • Observe and document interaction between children and their parents; and intervene, if necessary, as per agency regulations
  • Maintain calm yet playful demeanor when interacting with children in care. Build trust with children and co-workers
  • Transport children, provide direct care of children, and steward visits for the children in care by creating a safe, nurturing environment while implementing positive behavior plans and behavior modifying techniques following GAP's Behavior Management Plan, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) strategies, and state regulatory requirements
  • Agree to flexible hours. Primary purpose is to support the ministry as needed. Flexibility and reliability is critical in meeting ministry, case and State requirements; reliability includes checking schedule/calendar multiple times a day
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and consistently exercise discretion and good judgment
