HOERBIGER Corporation of America (HCA) is seeking a leader to oversee the manufacturing operations for our production facility in Pompano Beach, FL. HCA is an industry-leading manufacturer of precision compressor valves and components.

The role of Head of Operations is to ensure daily management and coordination of resources to reach quality, delivery, cost, and flexibility targets (QDCF); as well as achieving CM2/CM3 targets and improvement of ROIC especially working capital and investments. This is an Executive Level position; successful candidate will have strong financial acumen and extensive experience working in a global/matrix organization.

Responsible for development and implementation of policies and procedures for continuous improvement of QDCF using lean principles, methods, and company tools. Responsible for continuous development of plant organization and all employees. Establishes and maintains a safe, legally compliant working environment as well as compliance with all corporate policies and procedures. This is a low volume, high SKU operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and run optimum day-to-day operations to meet our customers’ expectations
• Define a plant roadmap according to the global operation roadmap and targets and execute it to continuously improve QDCF
• Responsible for product quality, on-time shipping, and production output
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Develop new production concepts with global team increasing level of automatization
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
• Share a trusting relationship with plant employees and recruit, manage and develop them
• Commit to plant safety procedures and their implementation
• Be a lean agent and drive improvement of value stream management

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent in related field
• Expert level knowledge of financial performance in manufacturing and the impact of variables related to manufacturing production on the P&L
• Experience working in global/matrix organizations
• 8+ years of experience as a plant manager with Operational P&L responsibility
• 8+ years of experience working in a manufacturing plant (not assembly), where precision parts are manufactured/machined – low volume, high SKU
• Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, value stream processes
• Solid knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
• Lean management knowledge
• ISO 9001 Quality Management System
• Experience in SAP; SAP Process Understanding
• Strong team building and people management skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Experience working in
• Collaborative/team-based management style preferred
• Strong knowledge of distribution and fabrication services preferred
• Ability to work with all levels of management
