arquette Transportation Company, LLC one of the industry’s largest marine transporters, is seeking a Vessel Dispatcher/Manager (After Hours) for its Paducah, KY office.

Our Company operates over 130 tow and tugboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. In addition, the Company controls over 1,400 dry cargo barges. The Company is headquartered in Paducah, KY and has additional offices in New Orleans, LA, Larose, LA and Houston, TX. With approximately 1,600 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as initial point of contact for after-hour vessel support calls.
• Triage inbound calls and coordinate with on-call office staff, customers, vendors and vessels to resolve problems and drive vessel productivity.
• Monitor vessel movements to proactively drive increased productivity. Proactively work with night dispatch contacts at barge fleeting locations to coordinate upcoming vessel tow work and improve barge pick up and drop efficiencies.
• Make calculated decisions to balance productivity based on vessel delays, operational changes and customer needs.
• Update operating system databases.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous marine experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Solid computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Self-starter, quick learner, team player, detail-oriented, organized, creative thinker, and ambitious with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule (12-hour shift coverage): 2-person rotation

9:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.

7 days on / 7 days off
