In this high visibility role, you will be able to use your in-depth knowledge of sourcing best practices to leverage the Meriplex combined purchasing power to drive efficiencies across the organization.

This role will be based in the Corporate office located in Houston, Texas and will report to the VP of Supply Chain. Supply Chain personnel are based in multiple locations across the US and some travel may be required.

Make your mark at Meriplex by being the best at what you do. The following are the primary duties that will make an impact:

  • Responsible for the qualification and onboarding process of suppliers to the Approved Vendor List.
  • Ensures proper accounts are established with suppliers.
  • Administers the New Supplier Onboarding process(W9, etc)
  • Schedules performance reviews with major suppliers and appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Analyzes market trends in technology and IT service delivery.
  • Constantly looks for opportunities across direct and indirect spending to reduce costs across the company.
  • Holds a thorough understanding of Meriplex, the supplier guidelines, and all related requirements.
  • Understanding of the technology market and how distributors (Ingram, TDSynnex, D&H, etc.) work with manufacturers (Dell, HP, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Critical understanding of “best in class” supply chain practices with a focus on driving down “Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Analyze industry trends and evolving technologies to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk and protect the continuity of supply.
  • Establish and foster relationships with suppliers to ensure the attainment of organizational objectives.
  • Align with various internal departments (Integration Management Office) to identify cost savings across Meriplex and acquisitions.
  • Develop and track appropriate Procurement KPIs in conjunction with management.

Relevant experience in the following areas will get you off to a great start:

  • Various procurement software systems experience.
  • 5+ years of experience sourcing a variety of goods and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High-level of attention to detail.
  • Strong MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering (Experience in lieu will be considered)

Some experience in the following areas will serve you greatly in this role:

  • Prior Telecommunications and/or IT infrastructure experience
  • Licensing procurement experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to motivate and influence people
  • Excellent client management/resolution skills
  • Self-motivated, team player
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated advancement in responsibility

Work Schedule/Travel - Standard Meriplex business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the ability to have a flexible schedule due to work volume. The ability to travel up to 15% may be required based on requirements and location which might be outside of the Houston metro area.
