Amazon is looking for a bright, customer obsessed, driven, and creative individual to join Amazon Fresh as a Vendor Manager. This role will engage directly with multiple internal and external teams to optimize the business for key manufacturers (vendors) both in-store and online. You will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance to drive the performance of strategic vendor partners at Amazon.

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated ability think strategically and analytically about a business, experience generating and managing reporting, analysis, and business reviews, and strong customer service skills. A detail-oriented and analytical mindset, as well as the ability to analyze and condense data, is a must. A strong understanding of Excel is also required.

You will be required to operate in ambiguous situations, taking ownership of projects and working in a fast-paced environment to deliver results. Much of this work will be cross-functional, working with internal and external stakeholders. As a result, a collaborative attitude, great communication skills and a keen sense of initiative are critical to success. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will take ownership of projects and business problems to a successful result

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage a strategic vendor, their contracts, and day-to-day relationships
  • Manage brand growth on Amazon, focusing on key inputs to drive the long-term success of the business
  • Identify new opportunities for growth; develop and execute project plans and strategies to deliver growth
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines
  • Conduct financial analysis of business opportunities, ensuring the business area meets and exceeds revenue and profitability targets
  • Invent or iterate on processes to simplify, improve and expedite vendor and customer service levels
  • Continuously seek information to improve the customer experience and make recommendations to the business
  • Support tactical tasks on the Protein Vendor Management team

A day in the life
  • Be the ‘business owner’ for your business, responsible for delivering on revenue and profitability goals
  • Drive negotiations and represent Amazon when meeting with senior leaders
  • Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partner teams, including marketing, in stock, biz tech, and Amazon Advertising
  • Support the Protein Vendor Management team as needed with tactical work

  • 2+ years of buying, merchandising or similar experience
  • Prior experience in managing vendor relationships and/or experience in a data analysis role is preferred
  • SQL proficiency
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Peer and team leadership
  • Strong business judgement and a track record of successful relationship management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey key insights from complex analysis in business terms
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically, with attention to detail
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and comfort working with complex data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $103,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
