Job Title: Valve Technician – Industrial
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Salary Range: $48-56 an hour, DOE
Schedule: 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 7x12 work weeks (84 hours)
Duration: 3 years

Job Duties:
- Responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and troubleshooting various valves and other equipment in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations per manufacturer requirements.
- Types of valves the technician will be expected to work on include, but are not limited to ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, butterfly valves, choke valves, wellhead valves, etc.
- Technician must be able to perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, and reassembly to manufacturer’s tolerances, as well as test valves (to include hydrotesting).
- Identify and order specialty tools and know how to set up a work area for the most efficient and safe valve repair.
- Identify critical valve repair kits and work with the materials group to order, as necessary.
- Identify old valves that need to be rebuilt and order kits for them, as necessary.
Qualifications:
· Four (4) years of experience working on valves.
· Strong valve troubleshooting skillset in the field.
· Must be able to self-manage and effectively work in a group setting.
· Must be able to oversee proper valve maintenance in the field.
· Ability to participate in the procurement of new valves.
· Knowledge of machine tools
· Knowledge of principles of lubrication
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
· Ability to demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures
· Ability to demonstrate support the company’s environmental management system
· Ability to work well with a team
· Ability to mentor co-workers
Experience:
· North Slope Experience, Preferred
· Mechanical Experience, REQUIRED
· NSTC, Preferred
· Preferred experience with maintaining equipment history in CMMS data bases.
· Required experience with routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of valves.
Education:
· High School Diploma or GED, Required
Required License: Must possess and maintain a current and satisfactory driving record. No reckless driving and DUI within the last 7 years. No more than 2 moving violations within the last 3 years.
Additional Information:
All food and housing expenses while working on the slope will be covered.
Flights from Anchorage to the slope are paid for by the company.
Flights from the lower 48 to Anchorage are the responsibility of the EMPLOYEE. Please keep this in mind when applying.
