Opportunity:

Formosa Interactive is looking for a talented and motivated UX Designer to join our growing studio. You have a proven track record in creating high-quality artwork in a broad range of styles and finish levels in this role.

The perfect candidate will demonstrate experience in designing within a cross-functional team consisting of developers, artists, and game designers using Figma as the primary design tool for wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes. You can work across several styles and genres and have a desire to deliver a high visual quality that delights our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Create best in class UX designs through wireframes, prototypes, and user flows, utilizing research and data for guidance.
• Work closely with the art director and art leads to create high-quality UI design and UI artifacts, including iconography., buttons, and component libraries.
• Excellent communication skills demonstrating the ability to work effectively and collaboratively across all functional disciplines of the team.

• Contribute to the consistency of the team's deliverables through regular critiques, feedback, and mentoring.
• Help grow a healthy, collaborative, fun and creative studio culture.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2+ years of experience in game development in the UI/UX disciplines.

• Portfolio/website demonstrating exceptional art skills and strong design sensibilities
• Understanding of and experience adhering to accessibility best practices and guidelines
• Experience presenting design work to key stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset and an ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
• Capacity for understanding pixel art of all types - textures, UI, animations, and illustrations.
• Experience building digital products in Figma, utilizing auto-layouts and components, with an understanding of design systems and libraries. Excellent research and exploration methods that demonstrate creative problem-solving.
• Can take direction and contribute to, interpret, and communicate visual direction with the team and the client with clarity and strong visual vocabulary.
• Passion for gaming industry, with an awareness of current titles and industry trends.

• Skill in one or more related disciplines – traditional art mediums.
• Be a fan of Minecraft and familiar with the art style.

Qualifications:
Education:

• High School education or equivalent required.
• BA/BS in applicable field preferred.
