Utility Engineer
Paragon Services Engineering is committed to providing its customers with an exemplary service to operate and maintain their properties in a Class A condition. The Utility Building Engineer position was established to provide support services to the building. The Utility Engineer reports to the Building Engineer, Lead Engineer, Chief Engineer, and/or Property/Operations Manager.
To accomplish this mission, the Utility Engineers duties are to maintain the property while performing repairs and preventative maintenance of the following duties while complying with all safety standards associated with each duty:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Electrical: Re-lamping, ballast replacement and reset breakers
- Plumbing fixture repairs, drain maintenance and restroom preventive maintenance.
- Fountain Maintenance (where applicable)
- T-bar ceiling repairs and ceiling tile replacement
- Assist with assigned engineering projects.
- Perform routine inspections of the building mechanical systems to ensure good working order.
- Perform visual roof inspections and make minor repairs as needed for leaks.
- Responsible to maintain utility and storage rooms in a clean, neat appearance making sure no items are stored inappropriately.
- Respond to assigned work orders from property manager.
- Perform general laborer work as assigned by Chief Engineer or Building Engineer, such as loading, unloading, and moving materials, and running errands for the Engineering Department.
- Painting
- Re-finish of outdoor furniture (where applicable)
- Exterior façade repairs (where applicable)
- Furniture moving, modular systems breakdown and set-up.
- General cleaning of engineering spaces

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months previous related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is recommended.
Language:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Physical Demands:
- While performing this position the Utility Engineer will be regularly required to sit, walk, bend, reach, hear and talk. The Utility Engineer frequently is required to use hands & fingers to handle or feel. The Utility Engineer must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
