We’re currently looking for an urban planner to join our firm and contribute to work that helps transform places across the Midwest. As an RDG Urban Planner, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside a team of diverse professionals to engage with communities and envision the future of cities and towns.
Essential Job Functions
- Support the planning team for projects across the Midwest
- Collaborate with multiple disciplines, clients and the public
- Research, analyze and write for a variety of project types including comprehensive community planning, housing market studies, neighborhood revitalization, corridor redevelopment, downtown plans and multi-modal transportation planning
- Prepare visual appealing materials for meetings and events
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the community planning field
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently, handling multiple tasks and projects at once
- Demonstrated proficient experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator), MS Office and GIS
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in planning, landscape architecture or related field
- 3- 6 years of experience, preferred
- AICP certification or currently pursuing certification
Location: Preferred location is Des Moines, also open to Omaha
