Underwriting Assisant - Commercial Property

• Entering new submissions and updating the Submission register
• Assisting underwriters in renewal preparation including, but not limited to, the preparing account summaries, quotations, binders and endorsement; developing loss runs
• Assisting Underwriters in attaining D&B reports, preparing catastrophe analysis and preparing renewal letters
• Preparing reinsurance layoff sheets in order to book and bill new and renewal accounts
• Setting up new and renewal account files upon binding accounts
• Preparing policies and endorsements for underwriter review
• Following up on information needed from brokers
• Maintain monthly reports for Account Lists, Loss Register
• Invoice renewal and endorsement premium and engineering fees
• Answer phones and take detailed messages
• Other duties as directed by the Senior Staff

Skills/Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 1 – 2 years of related experience preferred (Insurance Internships will be considered)
• Accuracy and proficiency in typing and proofreading
• Strong communication,organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• An independent, detailed self-starter
