DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plans and schedule flight/missions
  • Provides flight authorization and scheduling support/qualified Aircrew, including preparing and updating, submission and oversight of FTTC mission activities prior to execution
  • Coordinates mishap response and safety efforts to the local FTTC leadership by opening the mishap plans, procedures, checklists
  • Provides contact information for any further notifications reporting to remote management, demonstrates authority, responsibility and discretion to lead and perform facilitation of flight planning, scheduling and mission monitoring activities.
  • Administers, develops, coordinates, and executes briefings to cover daily information regarding the planned flights for the day (schedule updates, weather impacts, NOTAMS (Notice to Air Missions), TOMIS (Task Order Management Information System), FCIFs (Flight Crew Information File), and any other notifications the local FTTC leadership pass along
  • Develops up to date accurate documentation and reports to reflect FTTC activity
  • Coordinates with applicable airspace managers to facilitate UAS access and utilization of necessary airspace to support operational requirements
  • Provides post-mission reporting and analysis including the following areas daily:
    • UAS mission results
    • Lessons learned
    • Equipment effectiveness and status maintenance
    • Supply and logistics reports
    • Accident and hazard potential reports
    • Operates as a visual observer of electronic observer at all times of aircraft while operating in specified airspace, and advise the aircrew of hazards (aircraft, birds, other obstacles, weather change, etc.) on the ground and local area while the aircraft is flying.
  • Additional Functions and other duties as assigned or required.

Job Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in field of Aviation. Equivalent of four years of aviation operations experience will be considered in lieu of degree. With degree, no experience is required.
  • Familiarity with FAR (14 CFR part 91) is required.
  • Familiarity with duties of the role including scheduling, flight plans, tracked weather, input data into system (like COOL), briefing, coordinating with FAA.
  • Familiarity with formal training syllabi and course training flow. Previous experience in flight training scheduling.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organization skills.
  • A valid FAA medical is required to perform the visual observation duties of this position.
  • Prefer candidates with flight experience.
  • Prefer candidates with private pilot instrument rating.
