As a Traveling Med Tech, you’re responsible for administering medications and assisting residents in a variety of ways to support their individual treatment plans. Your ability to identify, diagnose and communicate concerns with not only residents, but with their families, physicians and staff is vital when it comes to ensuring that our residents are thriving. You’ll be part of an elite team of associates traveling throughout 6 states, this position will be traveling throughout Oregon to our 16 locations, located in Portland, Eugene, Grants Pass and many in between. You’ll be expected to provide support to cover staffing shortages either scheduled or unexpected. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of others.
General Overview
- Must be a current resident of Washington state
- We require at least a 6-month commitment (preferably one year)
- Assignments can range anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months
- Travel and lodging will be provided or compensated by Cascade Living Group for the duration of employment
- Starting wage is $24.00/hr (depending on experience it could be higher)
- Opportunity to work over-time
- Quarterly bonus based on performance
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience working with seniors
- Demonstrated knowledge of nursing practices, techniques and methods applied to resident care
- Must have 16 hour Med Tech certificate
- Previous experience working with the elderly, specifically those with Alzheimer’s or other dementia related conditions
- Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time
- Positive attitude and the flexibility to perform various duties in service to the residents
- Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families
- Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner
- Demonstrate good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
- The ability to work weekends and a flexible work schedule
Job Duties
- Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff
- Contribute information vital to the development and implementation of customized service plans
- Administration of treatment plans and chart medications in Medication Administration Record, document results of PRN medications and record any missed medications
- Answer and respond to calls/concerns from family members and physicians as directed.
- Make a significant contribution to the quality of life our residents by maintaining the highest possible quality and consistency
- Work with the clinical team to ensure the needs of our residents are being addressed in a timely matter
