Job Responsibilities
- Manage railcar fleet and Transload sites
- Maintain all new orders for Transloads
- Communicate with supply chain manager to ensure we will have the necessary materials available for production
- Work in the NAV system to create the Bill of lading for each railcar, insuring that the correct DOT regulated information is on the Bill of Lading
- Maintain a greater than 95% on time delivery with Trans-load carriers
- Maintain West Coast spreadsheet to insure all trans-load shipments are picked up and delivered in a timely manner
- Schedule railcars to the Trans-load sites based on inventory maintained at each location
- Work with CN railroad software to release and call in railcars, make diversions and set up routes
- Create and send all Bill of Ladings to the Transload sites for shipment of loads
- Once load delivers, cut Bill of Ladings out of the NAV system so that inventory is correct
- Maintain inventory on each railcar by keeping railcar sheet that has every order, weight and date that came out of the railcar
- Month End inventory closing which includes making sure what the trans-load says they have matches what we say they should have in inventory
- Process transportation payroll on a weekly basis and ensure employees are paid correctly
- Monitor all customer tank levels and set up dates based on customer usage
- Work closely with customers regarding tank levels and delivery schedules
- Process paperwork as it pertains to Trans-load sites and Proof of delivery
- Own full responsibility of the delivery of product railcar to the customer
- Serve as the backup to the Transportation Coordinator and Transportation Clerk
- Interact with production personnel, multiple carriers, the KPC Griffin office, and 3rd party vendors
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; college degree preferred
- 3-5 years of transportation experience
- Knowledge of 49 CFR and PHMSA regulations
- Ability to become certified in IATA, IMDG, and DOT regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and detail-oriented environment
- Must have extensive knowledge of exports including rules/regulations (such as NAFTA) and certificates of origin
- Negotiation and contract experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills
