This position organizes appointments and transports residents to and from appointments in the surrounding area.

Personal Qualifications: Transportation Aides have a strong desire to relate to and work with the elderly. They possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude and portray a positive image. Transportation Aides find fulfillment in building personal relationships and providing excellent transportation services. They are committed to doing whatever it takes to enhance the dignity in people's lives.

Professional Qualifications: Transportation Aides must have a current C.N.A license and C.P.R. Certification or are willing to obtain. Verbal communication skills are important to carry on conversations with residents, co-workers and visitors in an understandable manner. Written communication is also important for necessary documentation. It is important that Transportation Aides have a current driver's license and a good driving record. Transportation Aides are willing to participate in educational sessions, inservice training, and demonstrations.

Physical Requirements: Transportation Aides understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to:

* lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc.

* lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally.

* lift twenty-five (25) pounds consistently.

* be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist.

* go up and down stairs.

* bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.

* see and hear well enough to answer phones, greet people and read

* remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
