Job description
The Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and conducting training programs for our company's corporate and regional property portfolios. We are looking for at least two years of prior experience.
Duties include initial training analysis all the way to final delivery and ongoing evaluation. Training programs include new hire orientation, compliance, management training, soft skills development, and so much more. This position requires excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a superior ability to manage conflicting priorities and adjust priorities daily with great attention to detail. This position reports directly to the Director of Training and Development. At least 25% of travel may be required.
Duties:
- Provide needs assessment to distinguish between training and non-training issues as needed.
- Design and present training programs that meet the essential and required job requirements.
- Design and present customized training materials and support documents requested by the Director of Training.
- Measure and follow-up of all practices trained and demonstrate results to management, along with recommended changes to standards outlined in the TM Associates’ manuals.
- Ensure Management teams are aware of training successes and deficiencies.
- Oversee on-the-job training and orientation curriculum.
- Travel to specified regions to assist with training needs as directed.
- Provide training resources for all new and transition associates as needed.
- Audit the Learning Management System (LMS) records to ensure training compliance.
- Acts as a liaison within the Corporate Departments to ensure opportunities for operational improvement are developed, trained, and implemented.
- Maintain effective business practices in all areas of responsibility; recommend enhancements to ensure efficient and effective investments in our people and technology to ensure successful outcomes.
- Maintain proficiencies in all areas of responsibility to adequately respond to support requests and make recommendations as needed.
- Abide by all company policies and procedures as well as community policies applicable to each particular property.
- Any other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned by the company from time to time.
Requirements:
- Proven ability to master the full training cycle
- Proficiency in one or more Affordable Programs (Rural Development 515, HUD, LIHTC)
- Adequate knowledge of learning management software
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques
- Familiarity with talent management and succession planning
- Sound decision-making and organizational skills
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
- Proficiency in MS Office and Yardi software (preferred)
- BS degree in Education, Training, HR, or related field (preferred)
