This leadership position is responsible for designing, building, and executing a best-in- class training system for multiple manufacturing sites. Proven skill in building/sustaining training and development programs to increase trainee capability, reduce training gaps, and improve employee efficacy.
This individual will drive improvement in measurable output for training, retention, and development. The Training Manager is responsible for creating a learning culture, designing and managing a development training process, and supporting all learning and development activities that occur at BioSpectra. A main function of this position is training.
Major Roles & Responsibilities:
- Manage the Manufacturing and Operations Training Program – including analysis of the training needs and developing course material across multiple facilities.
- Provide intensive training for manufacturing teams to drive a systemic culture change within the organization
- Act as liaison between Training and Quality Systems and EHS in support of Site Training.
- Develop a training and development program to incorporate key areas of safety, employee safety, product quality, productivity, and personal/team development.
- Provide leadership in assessing, recommending, and executing training and development needs to reduce performance gaps and increase retention through effective onboarding programs.
- Ensure that all required trainings are executed and documented in accordance with all FDA, ICH and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to think strategically about future training & development needs and provide recommendations to leadership as needed.
- Ensures that all required regulatory, safety, quality system and manufacturing support training for employees is scheduled, provided and documented, as required, on a timely basis.
- Assists managers and supervisors with determining training needs and identifying training resources to meet those needs.
- Works with managers and supervisors to develop career paths for high potential employees.
- Stays abreast of the latest training trends, external training resources, techniques and technology.
- Develops training courses/presentations, including but not limited AR/VR, e learning and classroom, gamification, etc. courses in support of New Hire, Supervisor Training, Systems, Quality and EHS training.
- Delivers training presentations, including but not limited to New Hire, Supervisor Training, Systems, Quality, Lab and EHS and training. This includes classroom and OJT training.
- Identify/create course material in support of training which includes, posters, training assessments.
- Assists with the administration of the LMS.
- Cross train and deliver all courses in the Training Department.
- Audit and CAPA support.
- Other duties as needed.
- Occasional travel to and working from other BioSpectra facilities
- Occasional off-shift work, as needed, to provide support to off-shift employees
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Education, and/or Business Administration or a minimum of 4 years of learning and development program administration in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, including the creation of curriculum, the delivery of teaching material, and the understanding of effective teaching methods.
- Good working knowledge of Learning Management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint; Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with Articulate Storyline and Unity is preferred.
- Good understanding of GMPs in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present in front of a group. Good listening skills.
- Detail-oriented with effective multi-tasking skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with good emotional intelligence.
