SUMMARY: Traffic Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and management for all Traffic Department employees. Establish means and methods to ensure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely. The Traffic Supervisor must be capable of performing and managing every position within the Traffic Department. The Traffic Supervisor must adhere to company policies and procedures and be responsible for employee performance and retention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned as business dictates.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, training, and management for Traffic employees.
- Assign, direct, and monitor work performed by Traffic employees.
- Responsible for employee’s performance appraisal, development, and discipline. Must be able to address and resolve issues.
- Ensure all new hires and existing employees perform their jobs correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
- Responsible for meeting established targets such as Safety goals, shag efficiencies, product protection, turnover & monitoring budgetary expense.
- Communicate daily expectations, direction and instructions and provide ongoing feedback to employees. Communicate any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with all departments in the Plant.
- Complete all reports accurately and timely.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, accident investigation analysis, conduct departmental safety meetings, and utilize equipment provided for employee protection.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally via several platforms that include the following: telephone, email, two-way radio & IM services.
- Must have good computer skills & be able to work simultaneously within various systems.
- Must be able to handle several tasks simultaneously with minimal error.
- Must be able to professionally speak with a variety of internal & external customers using excellent customer service skills that demonstrate a positive interface for all our customers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Previous experience withing the Traffic or Transportation sector is required. Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook, Web).
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the discretion of management and may be changed (increased or decreased) by management as required.
