Summary
The Town of Gorham is currently seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Town Engineer. This position performs complex professional, technical, and administrative work related to the Town"s civil engineering, infrastructure planning, development review, design, and project management. The Town Engineer reports directly to the Town Manager and is responsible for performance guarantee management, project review, road and project design, site inspection, managing peer review engineers, and oversight of the Town"s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program. Acts as a technical resource to Town staff in all related engineering matters and collaborates extensively with the Town Manager, Director of Community Development, Public Works Director, and other municipal departments, consultants, outside agencies, and various boards and committees. Salary range for Grade 8 positions begins at $80,204; however, actual salary will depend on experience, qualifications, and budget. The Town of Gorham offers a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, and paid time off to eligible employees. The Town currently pays 90% of the premium cost for all health insurance coverage levels and provides a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) to help cover the cost of out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductible and coinsurance. Individuals covered by an alternative health plan are eligible for an annual medical buyout in lieu of coverage (currently $2,153 - $4,830 based on coverage eligibility). In addition to a choice between two excellent health insurance plans and paid vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays per year, employees have access to dental, vision, medical and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts, life insurance, short-term disability, IRAs, tuition reimbursement, and more. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Requirements - Minimum of a Bachelor"s degree in civil engineering required. A minimum of five years" experience with infrastructure planning and engineering. Must possess a professional engineer"s license from the State of Maine Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers within six months of employment. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Additional Information
