Job description

We are a towing company contracted by AAA to service exclusively AAA members. In doing so, we hold our services to remarkably high standards. Different service vehicles perform different services i.e. flat beds, wheel lifts and light service vehicles. For the most part, the following is the job description:

*Get information about the vehicle you are servicing from the dispatcher via radio or phone. This information usually includes the vehicle make and model, color, location, the reason for towing and the driver's name. Drive the truck to the vehicle's location.

*Speak with the members to learn the details of the vehicle's problem. Then, explain the solution in simple language. You must be able to remain helpful and polite with dealing with customers who may be anxious, angry or otherwise upset.

*Make simple repairs such as replacing flat tires or spark plugs, jumping batteries, and fixing disconnected or broken wires. If the problem is an empty fuel tank, provide a few gallons to get the customer to a safe place.

*Attach cables, chains or other equipment and winch the vehicle to towing elevation or onto the truck flatbed. Connect any necessary lights to the back of the vehicle.

*Tow the vehicle safely to the house, service station or impound or tow lot. You must observe all traffic laws and drive at a safe speed for the weather and road conditions.

*Accept and record payments and provide a receipt. Note the services rendered, cost of the services and the payment method.

*Create reports of each service call. These usually include the date, time and location of the service, information about the car, a description of the services you performed and the distance you towed the vehicle.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:

*MUST be 26 years of age or over (Insurance).

* Must have a clean driving record as well as a clean record.

*Bilingual is a plus.

*Basic Mechanic skills.

*Must be able to work long hours (as most shifts are 12 hrs long) and in all weather conditions.

*Must be able to lift a minimum of 45-50 lbs.

*Great personal hygiene is required.

*Must have exceptional work ethic.
