Tool Room Attendant
Location: San Diego, CA, US

Reports to: Operations Manager
Summary/Objective: The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining supplies in the tool room. If tools or equipment are lost the tool room attendant is the one who orders additional stock of all the materials and equipment. Amongst other things, he/she hands PPE. You will also need to repair various hand and power tools.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Receives, stocks, controls, and inventories tools, and support equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Issues tools, test equipment, test measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) and support equipment from the tool room and maintains strict accountability.
- Performs preventative and minor maintenance on tools and support equipment.
- Ensures tools and support equipment is clean, oiled, and serviceable.
- Marks and identifies tools and equipment for quick inventory.
- Ensures tools and equipment are sent to test, repair, or calibration.
- Practices good housekeeping, tool control, and safety always.
- May perform other duties related to the classification as assigned.

Education / Experience Required:
- Must be 18 years old.
- Must be able to work in the US.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Acceptable driving record
- Must be able to obtain a DBIDS credentials.
- Must possess basic skills (reading, writing and mathematical skills).
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a toolroom attendant.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requires 40+ hours of work per week. M-F 0600 – 1430 (or as otherwise assigned by Operations Manager) with pre-scheduled overtime as needed.
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office and warehouse work environment.
Travel:
This position does not require ability to travel.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be available to work at heights, confined spaces and have ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes.
May involve carrying objects that weigh up to 50 lbs., frequent stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, and walking.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
- Completion of a satisfactory background check
- Passing a drug test and physical examination
- Eligibility to work in the US.
- Obtaining DBIDS level security clearance.
- OSHA 10 Maritime
