Essential Functions, Knowledge and Competencies

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work well with others (vendors and co-workers)
• Strong computer skills
• Work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to occasionally lift as much as 75 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8-10 hours or more), frequent bending and twisting
• Ability to use CAD efficiently
• Ability to use Excel software proficiently
• Mechanical aptitude
• Precision machinist
• Able to use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, )
• Read shop drawings (blueprints)
• Vast knowledge of material types (dealing with the tooling industry)
• Knowledge of general manufacturing processes
• Skillful with CNC equipment and applications
• Good math skills (algebra and trigonometry)

Responsibility/Authority

• Completes work assignments in accordance with established methods and procedures
• Authority to stop any process when defects or safety is a concern
• Troubleshoots problems with shop floor leaders and operators
• Works with the cross functional teams on process improvement projects
• Making the necessary tooling to support the manufacturing of product
• Preventive maintenance on all machines with the tooling department
• Developing EDM programs via CAD/CAM
• Works on production product when necessary
• Training on equipment set ups and trains to the use of tooling as needed
• Train employees as needed
