Job description
The Third Party Billing Coordinator is responsible for the overall financial coordination and day-to-day management of all third party billings including sponsorships and scholarships for OCCC students, employee benefit billings for OCCC retirees, and the OCCC tax intercept program. This position is responsible for assuring financial compliance with all applicable private, federal and state requirements as well as Oklahoma City Community College’s policies and procedures and serves as the liaison to other OCCC departments.

Minimum Education/Experience
Associate’s degree and a minimum of one (1) year work experience in a business office.

OR

A minimum of two (2) years full-time experience in a business office.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business publications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from OCCC personnel, students and the public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Superior critical thinking skills required.
  • Knowledge of accounting software.
  • Accounts receivable experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency at an advanced level, using standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to acquire enhanced skills as new technology is introduced.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction to prioritize, implement, and manage multiple projects and due dates.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Light work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
  • This position requires the person to frequently move about the Bursar office and OCCC campus.
  • This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
  • This position requires the person to frequently operate a computer, other office machinery, and mobile devices to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • This position requires the person to frequently operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • This position requires the person to frequently position self to grasp, move, and/or lift materials or equipment.
  • This position requires the person to frequently position self to access materials that may be above head or at ground level.

3. VISUAL ACUITY:
  • This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.

4. WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • This position performs the essential functions in an indoor, office setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience in an academic/higher education business office.
  • Knowledge of scholarship and federal aid programs, compiling data and preparing related reports.
Required Training Work Hours
Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
