Test Technician
Stennis, MS
As one of our Test Technicians, you will part of a team delivering the installation, preparation, operation and troubleshooting of complex development test engines. You will have experience in instrumentation troubleshooting, IT skills and be able to understand technical drawings and instructions. You will be required to maintain a clean and safe environment in the workplace and be able to work outdoors, at height for extended periods of time. Must be willing to travel internationally, up to 15% of the time.

The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is located on NASA’s John C. Stennis Space Center just outside the city of New Orleans, LA. The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is capable of testing Rolls-Royce jet engines: large, small and military. The Rolls-Royce Stennis Outdoor Test Facility is the only Rolls-Royce testing facility capable of performing special tests such as fan flutter and noise testing. The current capabilities include two outdoor jet engine test stands

Key Accountabilities:
- Preparing test engines including the installation and removal of test equipment and instrumentation, including instrumentation rigging, engine pylon electrical configuration, as well as electrical and instrumentation fault diagnostics
- Preparing test stand and facility equipment and operating the engine and associated systems such as throttle, electronic logs, dynamics and noise monitoring
- Troubleshooting all systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) involved with engine testing
- Operating the engine transportation equipment to move engines and equipment
- Must be willing to work on any shift (days, afternoons and nights) or rotate as necessary in any shift pattern as well as work outdoors all year round, walk/stand for half of the work time, and work at various heights
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (General Educational Development)
- Ability to lift engine components weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
- In order to be considered eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with instrumentation and electronics (low voltage systems)
- IT skills with ability to learn custom software and systems
