Summary:
In the Test Analyst role at NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC), you will develop plans, designs, procedures, and scripts to verify and validate software requirements for systems used for flight testing and research efforts. You will receive technical guidance from the Systems Engineering Manager and will work closely with other functional disciplines across NASA AFRC.

Key Responsibilities:*

  • Tests software programs to ensure they meet the NASA customer's requirements and ensure their successful integration into larger systems used across the Dryden Aeronautical Test Range (DATR).
  • Communicates the findings of the test results to the development team, customer representatives and engineering management.
  • Assists hardware, systems engineers, and technicians in troubleshooting any anomalies; This may entail creating custom test tools aid personnel with their troubleshooting efforts.
  • Writes documentation in support of test development including, but not limited to: test plans, test procedures, descriptions and results.
  • Document results of testing, while logging all defects identified in the approved test planning system.
  • Provides technical guidance to users.

Qualifications:*
Education: Associates degree in a technology related field with 2 years related work experience; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years of total work experience may be substituted for the former requirement.

Experience:* A minimum of two years of software test development experience.
*
Ability to*: Apply the principles and techniques of software and system test development to specific projects; Write and prepare a variety of technical and user-oriented reports, manuals, and other types of written communications; Work under deadlines; Effectively use project planning, writing and spreadsheet software programs such as Microsoft Project, WORD and Excel; Perform work in an ISO compliant/certified environment; Obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.

In-depth knowledge of: Test development, Azure DevOps Test Plans Suite

General knowledge of: *Windows 10, Telemetry acquisition systems and telemetry processing; Configuration Control processes, software testing Lifecyle, technical data analysis

Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:*
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, prolonged sitting while using the computer and the telephone and attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while programming and reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
