Overview

Objective of the Telematics Service Engineer is to investigate field issues within the Telematics end to end system for further quality review. This position will be assisting both the Onboard, and Offboard Service Engineers in their investigations. This could include internal validation of data from a back office perspective, or validation on Product Link hardware to ensure that products are reporting data properly.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Onboard and Offboard Service Engineers
  • Quality Investigations for new issues to determine severity and affected population
  • Investigations include process flow work to determine where a piece of data is not being recorded or sent properly in the flow of data from a Product Link Device to the end customer
  • Creation of CPI Projects as the Find It Service Engineer Role, working through above investigations to Define, and Measure the severity of an issue
  • Assisting in returning parts from the field, and coordinating analysis of failed parts with outside engineering teams
  • Writing field communications to dealers to update them on the process of quality investigations - Updating software over the air for populations of assets to correct quality issues in the field
  • Potential for some of these validation processes to take place on site at a customer location
  • Potential to travel if needed (around 10% during normal business operations)
  • The position will be onsite hybrid starting day one.
  • Can sit in either Denver, Peoria or Chicago.

Education Requirements

  • Four year degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, computer science or other technology related field, or equivalent job related experience
  • 5+ year overall job exp.

Technical Skills

  • Background in troubleshooting or problem solving (Product Support experience)
  • Customer facing experience
  • Excellent with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Problem Solving
  • Proven track record of hands-on work
  • Strong Oral Communications skills
  • Team Player
  • Microsoft Products

Desired Skills

  • J1939 Datalink experience
  • Telematics 1+ year exp
  • Previous experience with OEM Products, and OEM Telematics Products
  • Knowledge of other functions that regularly provide inputs into telematics quality programs such as, product development, engineering, quality, purchase, and operations
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Travel Requirements

  • Some domestic travel may be required

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $65,000.00 - $77,830.00 per year
