THE JOB
Tidewater Environmental Services, Inc. is hiring several Technicians to support the Pacific Northwest’s industrial and marine communities. This position will perform high pressure water blasting, preventive booming, spill response and clean-up on the Willamette and Columbia Rivers in addition to m aintaining and cleaning catch basins to ensure that waste is handled in a fully compliant manner.
THE PAY
- Starting wage is $21.00 per hour with the ability to earn up to $27.94 per hour plus advancement opportunities.
- Overtime is paid for all weekend work and any work beyond eight hours per day or 40 hours per week.
- Minimum 30 hour weekly pay guarantee.

THE CATCH
Responsibilities of this position require the ability to:
- Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Work at various heights (up to 60 feet) and in confined spaces.
- Work in various work conditions and temperatures.
- Obtain and maintain a valid TWIC Card in accordance with Department of Homeland security within 30 days of hire date.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, Tidewater Environmental Services, offers a range of services including industrial cleaning, hazardous and non-hazardous waste transportation, wet/dry vacuum services, tank cleaning, and ship cargo hold cleaning throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and parts of California. We operate seven days a week, 24 hours per day, to serve our customers.

Essential Functions:
- Manages self and others in support of safe and incident-free operations. Responsible for knowing and abiding by applicable safety management system policies and procedures.
- Operates commercial/industrial equipment (i.e. high pressure washer blasting equipment capable of maintaining pressures to 20,000 psi, blowers, etc.).
- Operates non-DOT equipment (i.e. forklift, manlifts, scissor lifts).
- Maintains and cleans catch basins to ensure that waste is handled in a fully compliant manner.
- Performs preventive booming, spill response and clean-up responsibilities.
- Maneuvers hoses, pumps and valves.
- Responsible for regular and prompt attendance as scheduled.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands:
Requires regular lifting of 30 to 50 pounds and physical strength to maneuver hoses, pumps, and valves. Work may occur in awkward positions while working in cramped quarters and involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking (regular and uneven surfaces) and climbing and ascending/descending ladders.
Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:
This position is performed at various work sites. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, inclement weather conditions, working around water, slip/fall hazards, electrical and mechanical hazards, foreign body hazards, chemicals, vapors, dust and fumes.
Machines, Tools Equipment, Software:
Pressure washer, manlifts, blowers and other tools as needed to perform the essential functions of the position.
