Runwise is looking for a Technical Program Manager who is highly motivated, results-oriented, and passionate about optimization and efficiency. This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the COO.
Runwise (www.runwise.com) is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup that controls and runs the key energy systems (heating, water, etc…) in 3500+ buildings throughout the US. Runwise's unique hardware and software service significantly reduces energy usage, substantially lowering costs and carbon output. As of today, Runwise's technology takes the equivalent of 50,000 cars worth of carbon emissions off the road each year.
We're looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to oversee all aspects of our software and hardware experimentation and release cycle. As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring alignment across our various software, hardware, and field teams to ensure proper testing and release of every new product. This role is a critical part of our technology team as the complexities of a hardware and software business require expert coordination and execution at every level of planning.
As our first technical program manager, you will be expected to be our eyes in the field as necessary to help coordinate testing between our engineering and field technicians. You will also be the point person coordinating necessary roadmap milestones on our way towards new releases. The ideal individual loves wearing multiple hats, is extraordinarily adaptable, and is able to quickly shift from initiative to initiative as our needs develop and/or change. Experience sourcing parts and managing contract manufacturers for prototypes and at scale is a huge plus.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain project management artifacts including (but not limited to): communication plans, risk logs, decision logs, escalation procedures, project schedules, scope statements, high-level and detailed business requirements, technical specification documents
  • Manage a multi-product release process to test, validate, and implement changes to applications, code, and hardware
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
  • Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Collaborate with other departments, stakeholders, and vendors to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain
  • Own the relationship with all contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.

You have:

  • 5+ years of Software Project Management experience including: analysis, project management, process management, program management, people management, vendor management, and client management
  • 2+ years experience in Hardware Technology Project Management
  • Experience managing large scale, complex programs that span both Product and Business teams
  • Experience successfully managing coordinated releases
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize numerous deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of various seniority across the Company, with vendors, and with customers
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining focus and accuracy
  • Confidence to make well-informed, independent decision while escalating issues as appropriate

Salary Range: $155,000 - $190,000 (depending on years of experience)
