Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Friday 8:30am-3pm
Salary Range: $17.00-$20.00/hour (Salary dependent on certification)
Description
Trinity School is currently looking for fun energetic people to work with students with disabilities. This is a full time position and works all year round excluding school breaks. The School Program serves children aged 4-21 of whom the mainstream school system is unable to serve. The children in the School Program have a developmental or intellectual disability such as autism or behavioral challenges. It is the School's purpose to develop the children's potential so that they may be able to function as independently as possible in the community. Even though they are unable to participate in the mainstream school system, becoming part of mainstream society is always the goal.
Responsibilities
- Implementing the goals and objectives for each student
- Being a part of the clinical team
- Learning basic principles of behavior analysis
Minimum Qualifications
All applicants must have:
- A paraprofessional certificate or eligible for certification (see ISBE website for requirements).
- At least 19 years of age
- A valid driver’s license
- One of the Following:
- Associate’s degree or higher
- 60 semester hours of coursework
- High School Diploma or GED and a score of 460 or higher on the ETS Parapro
- High School Diploma or GED and the following scores on the ACT Work keys: Applied Mathematics/Applied Math (with a score of 4) and Reading for information/Workplace Documents (with a score of 4)
Physical Requirements
- Physical activities that could be used include: Balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, repetitive motion, pushing wheelchairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds
